Simmern prepares the site for its industrial park

End of 2014 | The town of Simmern reacted quickly to ERO’s desire to move: An area was designated as a new industrial park with about half of it earmarked for ERO.

At the end of 2014 the town, as owner of the site, had the coniferous trees on it cleared.

At the request of the intended purchaser, two of them were left standing and even protected with a fence. But why? We will explain later.

February 2015: The snow-covered ground is measured.

7th. April 2015: Demolition of the farm buildings proceeds at full tilt.

20th. April 2015: Only broken masonry remains of the farm buildings.

12th. May: A special recycling machine breaks up the concrete and masonry for removal.

18th. May: The site is ready for its buyer. And the mysterious trees are still standing.
